Cosmology and Pantheon

I started working on a pantheon as part of world building. Since I am familiar with science I decided to create a religious perspective based on scientific and psychological principles with some personal biases built in. This is a rough version.

Origins

In the beginning there was the ultraverse. The ultraverse is a strange unknowable place to us. Concepts such as time, cause and effect, matter and energy, and physical forces do not exist as we understand them in our universe. There exists in this universe great entities called Koskorda. When the Koskorda interact a new universe may be spawned. With each interaction of the Koskorda another big bang signals the start of another universe. The music of the ultraverse creates the universes. Our universe is a pocket dimension in the ultraverse and the ultraverse is a pocket dimension in the larger super-ultraverse and so on infinitely.

In the beginning there was the one pure energy and it had no thought or it had all thoughts at once. Eventually it cooled to the point that matter and energy separated. The aspect of matter is the titans and the energy is the dragons. The one grew impatient and became three aspects of itself. From these three aspects the multitude of gods were born.

This world takes place on a moon of a gas giant planet circling a yellow sun. There are four inhabited moons of a gas giant. The closest moon was dead now. The next moon was covered in shallow seas. The next one is the most similar to Earth, a class M planet so to speak. The fourth moon is a dry rocky planet and home to the rock folk.

The giants and the dragons were the first to awaken. The giants rose out of the world’s surface, made of rocks and stone. The dragons sprang up out of the molten core of the world. The first great war between the giants and the dragons was a terrible battle that marred the world and shaped it. The early giants that could easily wade in the deepest seas and push an entire continent. The dragons burned like the sun. The giants tore the dragons to pieces and dragons shattered the giants into smaller and smaller pieces. Eventually the world could not support the titans and they died out leaving their mark on the landscape

There are also the three forces. Gravity that manifests itself at the largest scales and distances, electroweak, the force of opposites, for normal scales and distances, and finally the nuclear force which typically only manifests at the smallest distances but has the greatest strength.

The deities in this universe take on several different aspects. Some are gods like the roman gods but others are spirits that manifest themselves as part of a person’s personality.

Physical gods: Fisidio

  • Enuna The one: The Space Time

  • Matter/Dark Matter (titans/giants)

  • Energy/Dark Energy (wyrms/dragons)

The aspects of giants and dragons represent matter and energy. Then there are the two sides of light and darkness for four aspects in all.

  • Forces

    • Gravity

    • Electroweak

    • Nuclear

There are also the three forces. Gravity that manifests itself at the largest scales and distances, electroweak, the force of opposites, for normal scales and distances, and finally the nuclear force which typically only manifests at the smallest distances but has the greatest strength.

Life gods: Lividio

  • Death, Entropy, and Time

As opposed to entropy or the death force.

  • Life and Anti-Entropy

There is life force or anti-entropic force. This is the ability to reduce entropy in a certain area at the expense of increasing entropy in another area.

Intellectual gods: Sinidio

This is broadly defined as some cultures do from the order of crystalline structures which would be the lowest form

Plants which can sense and respond to chemical signals.

Instinctual intelligence predator prey type intelligence ac and the hierarchy of needs: Air, water, food, shelter, sleep

Safety, love, esteem, self actualization

  • The nine aspects: Visual, verbal, logical, musical, spiritual, natural, social, self, physical

    • Visual: Spirit of color and light

    • Verbal: Spirit of language and words

    • Logical: Spirit of logic

    • Musical: Spirit of music

    • Social: Spirit of society

    • Self: Spirit of introspection

    • Physical: Spirit of the physical body

    • Natural: Spirit of nature

    • Spiritual: Spirit of spirituality

  • The three: The more advanced intelligence levels which include social, physical motor, and cognition.

    • Social: Receive, respond, value, organize, characterize

    • Physical: Perception, ready to act, guided response, mechanism, complex action, adaptation, organization

    • Cognition: Remember, understand, apply, analyze, create, judge

Executive processor, id, ego, super ego, morality, ethics, memory

These are all considered forces or spirits. Different individuals embrace and are endowed with different aspects of all of these.

Husogni: God of memory, regret, trauma, and dreams

Kunstammag: God of music, art, theater, magic

God of love, community, friendship, safety, esteem

God of fear, hatred, and anger

God of potions, alchemy, healing, poison

God of logic, mathematics, and philosophy

God of greed, decay, corruption, and wealth

God of pleasure, feasting, alcohol, drugs, sex

God of lies, deception, and gambling

The one (Space Time)

The great wyrms (Energy and Dark Energy)

The titans (Matter and Dark Matter)

The three forces: Gravity, Electroweak, Strong nuclear

  • Gravity: The force of the cosmos

  • Electroweak: Everyday to microscopic forces

  • Strong nuclear: sub-picoscopic forces

Mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, sociology, ecology, gaia

Earth, water, air, fire: Solid, liquid, gas, plasma, these are not the elements

The true elements are a manifestation of Electroweak and strong nuclear, created by gravity.

Hierarchy of immortals:

Tolkien: Eru, Valar, Maiar, Eldar, Edain, Hobbits, Orcs, Spirits

God, demigod, arch-angel, angel, demon, spirit

Deva, Sura, Spirit

Essence, aspect
